Just so you know, PowerBook G4s (at least I know the 15" do) have USB on separate boards. Any ideas??? No problem at all! Does the DC port and sound ports work fine? At that point my usb's still worked, (even though the warning) I could print and scan. What kind of shape is it in?

That seems a bit crazy. Fortunately, the PowerBooks have the USB ports on separate boards so if the port is damaged you can replace just the DC-In Board and not the whole Logic Board. Guess I'll pull it apart as if I'm working on the DC-in board and see if I can see anything not connected or loose. I put my 80 GB original in again (replacement was a 40 GB) and removed the lower stick of RAM.
