I understand that you are trying to be helpful, but I do know what a clean install requires. I started OSX, started the FCP, and set the other setting (which is the default one, so theoritically that was the active), and restarted - and voila, there was my working The computer ONLY has USB ports. You can't use a wireless keyboard during installation, and then you have problems trying to pair wireless devices afterwards too!
